Managed Data Infrastructure

We believe that districts are best positioned to make data-informed decisions that put students at the center of their learning when they have access to robust data infrastructure. However, hiring an engineer (or team of engineers) can be costly to build infrastructure and data processing pipelines. Landing Zone can help!

Own and control your student data

Our team builds 100% of the district’s Google Cloud account infrastructure. This means the districts retain full ownership and control of all their data. We are not pulling student data into our environment, but rather we keep everything in a Google Cloud project that sits in the districts’ own G Suite environment.

secure Cloud-first environment

Our solution utilizes the Ed-Fi ODS / API Platform, Apache Airflow, and Google BigQuery. Having an operational data store (ODS) as the beating heart of a district’s infrastructure is a great way to ensure there is a place for their data to land that validates and checks for accuracy as it happens. When we aren’t moving data in and out of the ODS, we are moving it into Google BigQuery, a fully-managed, serverless data warehouse. This enables us to create a data mart of denormalized data useful for analytics work.

Bringing all of this data together has helped us change the way we use data more holistically and with greater focus on what matters.
